The accessibility of public transportation in rural areas influences the economic, social, and also environmental indicators, but most transport companies are interested in the most competitive zones, i.e. cities. Ecotrain is a sustainable project aiming to deploy autonomous trains in rural zones to ensure the continuous quality of logistics services in rural areas in a hyper-connected supply chain network. To do so, we rely on the Physical Internet concept and propose an adapted system configuration. within it the pi-hubs ( train stations) are able to provide suitable train schedules according to the different constraints and parameters of the system.
